time reflected the turmoil of his era.

GUERNSEY CHORAL &
ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY
present
The St John Passion by J S Bach
Conductor : Stephen Le Prevost
Soloists include Robert Coupe, Mark Wildman, Barbara Borden, Emily
Bauer-Jones, John Surcombe and Nicholas Warden with Anne
Wilkes-Green, Niall McCathie and Roger Le Tissier. Robert Coupe takes time
off from his professional singing career based in Amsterdam to return to his
native Guernsey. As the Evangelist, he takes us through the text of the
Passion of our Lord according to St John. The soloists bring to life the
spoken word of the individual characters and the choir play the role of the
crowd. In contrast, the arias and chorales lead the audience through
meditations on the unfolding story.
