1999 - 2025 |
The 19th Island Games are in Guernsey in 2021, Orkney in 2023 where there will be no basketball, and Ynys Mon in 2025 with Isle of Man pencilled in for 2027.
The 19th Games in Guernsey were postponed due to the Covid pandemic. These were held in 2023, with the subsequent Games in Orkney in 2025, the Faroe Islands stepping in for the IOM in 2027 and the IOM will host the 2029 games instead. Jersey have applied for the 2035 games (25th Games, 50th year since inaugural Games in 1985)
As the Games in 2025 were in Orkney and no basketball there was an islands games organised and held in Ynys Mon between Falkland Islands, IOM, Faroe Islands, Jersey, Ynys Mon and Guernsey

The men finished 4th and was by far their best result in the Games, previously being 6th in the Isle of Wight.
Both teams should have finished with the bronze medal, the women had already beaten Gibraltar in the league match and Gibraltar men had only just beaten Jersey in their league.
