Starshield Page

What is Starshield?
Starshield is a series of books written by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weiss(of Dragonlance Fame). It is also the name of a roleplaying system set in the Starshield Universes. The original roleplaying system was developed by Tracy Hickman and others but now it is being maintained by fans of the books and the system. These fans are involved in communal world building and roleplaying.

What is so good about Starshield?
From my point of view the good thing about the Starshield system was that it is a multi-genre system that allows me to create any kind of character and fit him into the game. Wizards can duel with Marines and Jedi Knights and Dragons, Computer geniuses can play their part with ninjas and robots and elves. The starshield system as a roleplaying game did not get very well developed so there are lots of holes the a DM has to fill, but it is simple to play and not too bad to run.

In the starshield pocket universe that I populate the Heptarchy is one "reality" and there are are three other "realities" close (close in astronomical terms) but separated by quantum fields. The junction between the four different quantum fields is chaotic and the setting for several scenarios at the Dragons on the Hill Roleplaying club.

Here we have the Quantum fields and Typical spells and natural laws that would be found in the four Quantum fields that make up the bit of universe that I set adventures in.

This page is only here to keep the files that I used for the game system tidy and to provide links to the official (or unofficial since it is hard to keep track) starshield site FAQ.

If you are interested in Starshield or the skeletons of the scenarios that I have written (mostly stolen from the rules
anyway) drop me a line at the email address below. I will add more to this page the next time that I run a scenario.
