Rust Bucket Rally

Rules of the Rally

The rules apply to everyone taking part and have your safety in mind.

The age limit for this event is 18 or over.

The main thing is this is not a race. If you want to race try Brands Hatch. Drive safely; there are no prizes for idiotic driving or getting to the destination first.

Be Warned;

If you take a toll ticket for the autobahn and you go to pay to get off they will check how long it has taken you on that stretch of road they will work it out if you have been speeding and you will get an instant fine. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

All vehicles must carry relevant safety equipment required by the authorities in the countries you visit. Make sure you comply with foreign regulations. All teams must have no less than 2 licensed drivers with at least one years driving experience. The maximum of 4 members per banger is allowed. No bumping of other teams bangers is allowed, this is not an Autocross event.

Please note Drink Driving is a big no no make sure you have a sober driver at all times. Failure to comply with any of the rules will result in your team being dismissed from the rally.

The Banger

The banger has to cost £500 or less all cars will be scrutinized and if it is thought to be worth more you will not be eligible for the prizes.

Theme

No offensive or inappropriate designs will be allowed to take part so please keep it clean. Manufactured convertibles are allowed however any cars, which have had their roofs, removed or modified are NOT acceptable.

Scrap the banger

You will need your V5 with you at all times and if you are not returning to Guernsey, Jersey or England with your banger you must make sure it is disposed of legally. Rally organisers will co-operate with any of the countries visited authorities that want to trace the owner of any abandoned vehicles. It is your responsibility to scrap your banger although rally organisers will arrange scrap yards in Munich if possible. You could even try and sell them off (cheaply of course).

Be Nice, lend a hand

If you come across anyone from the rally who is in difficulty it would be nice to stop and help and to make sure everyone is OK. You never know when you may need help yourself.

And Finally

Any Anti-Social behaviour will result in instant dismissal from the Rally. All teams must cooperate and respect the hotels, and other venues which accommodate us. All teams must comply with the drink drive laws of each country. Anyone breaking this law will be instantly removed from the rally. Rust Bucket organisers reserve the right to remove any team who do not comply with this behaviour policy.
