About Aid Reaching Children
Aid Reaching Children are the brains behind this Rally so all monies raised will go directly to them. As last years Rust Bucket ally was a such a success this will now be an anual event. If you are curious where your money will end up please visit our website www.aidreachingchildren.org.gg to see what we have achieved so far.
Vale Infants School and Vale Junior School AppealThis year all the money raised will go to Vale Infants/Juniors school appeal.
Vale Infants and Vale Junior’s climbing frame has reached the end of its life. After more than twenty years, during which time thousands of Vale children have enjoyed playing on it,
http://www.cwgsy.net/private/ormer/ Our challenge now is to help them to build a replacement.
The Vale schools were informed in February 2008 that it is no longer viable to maintain and repair the existing climbing frame so it cannot be used by the children after July 2009.
This isn’t a luxury, it is a well designed climbing frame that has excellent educational value and contributes to the health of the pupils.
To install a similar replacement, suitable for daily use by both schools will cost £37,000, a sum beyond the sterling work of the school PTA.
This climbing apparatus will be situated, as was the old frame, in the playground between the 2 schools. it will be used by children aged 5 to 11, before and after school, at playtimes, during the lunch hour and also, by individual classes, throughout the school day.
The children are all involved in the process of replacing our existing climbing frame. Year 1 has begun a project on designing and making model climbing frames as a design & Technology unit.
During assemblies all the children have been given the opportunity to discuss this project and together have created a “wish list” of elements they would like included in our new climbing apparatus. The whole school community is keen to be involved and excited about the project which will have a positive impact on pupils for years to come.
Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances.
“Children don’t play on school playground equipment, they imaginatively in-habit the spaces the play environment provides.”
Can you help?
We would like everyone taking part in this years Rustbucket Banger Rally to raise a minimum £100 sponsorship towards the cost of replacing the old climbing frame. If you raise more that will be an added bonus. the more we collect the quicker the children can get on to the frame..
