Winter Mountain Skills - Introduction

The course ran from 11 - 16 February 2001 at the Loch Eil Outward Bound Centre near Fort William.

There were ten participants (9 men and 1 woman) with varying backgrounds, all intent on learning how to travel safely in mountainous terrain in winter conditions.  Four were from Guernsey - Stephen Mauger, John Jeyes, Pierre Goubert and myself.

As well as days spent in the mountain, there were also evening lectures on navigation, avalanche awareness and weather.
