Dear Bev,

I have just spent a happy hour going through your website and cannot explain how nostalgic it makes me. I was fortunate enough to live on Guernsey from January 2000 to June 2002.
I fell in love with Guernsey from my first day and it is a love that has endured and brought me bitter-sweet feelings ever since. Sweet - because of the fabulous memories and experiences I had. Bitter - because I just miss my 'spiritual home' so much. Not a day goes by without me thinking about Guernsey and the surrounding islands and I never entirely give up on a dream to return to live there again one happy day. I haven't visited for three years now and perhaps this is why I am feeling particularly 'homesick' (an odd comment, since I am Birmingham born and bred and now living in Bristol but, after living in Guernsey for nine months I remember visiting family in Birmingham for a few days but being glad to return 'home' to Guernsey, and that was how it stayed) and was so moved by your excellent photographs. Your images made me yearn to tramp the wild cliffs and stroll the cobbled High Street of St. Peter Port once more. I was fortunate to be given the chance to spend some of my life there. Unfortunately, as a poor student  I cannot afford to pop over and spend some happy days there. Never mind - I won't be poor forever.
Thankyou for your fabulous website Bev and continue giving me some opportunity to reminisce.

Regards, Colin Walford.

What a lovely site! My Dad's family came from Guernsey and we still have relatives there. We visit every year but it is never enough. The photos really capture the island's beauty...and its peace and quiet!

Nice site, great pictures. My immediate family were evacuated just before the occupation but there were relatives that stayed for the duration. I have heard many stories and seen many black & white photos but the pictures here are great.
