This tiny island paradise is 20 minutes from Guernsey by
fast, comfortable ferry service. Surrounded by crystal clear seas, sunny
skies and plenty of clean golden sand, there is a wealth of natural beauty.
Seals and dolphins are occasionally glimpsed from the shore, and in the
summer puffins nest in the south. Everything is within easy walking
distance, offset by fragrant carpets of wild flowers and well sign posted
pathways which weave
through a variety of beautiful landscapes.
Herm
is just 1.5 miles long by o.5 miles wide, a car free zone and ideal for safe
family outings. The quaint little harbour village has three delightful gift
shops.
The warm gulf stream washes up scores of exquisite and rare
shells onto the palm fringed shell beach and a little kiosk nearby sells
Herm's home made ice cream.
The Mermaid Tavern has its own restaurant and barbecue and
the more formal White House Hotel is nearby serving excellent food and wine.
Herm farms it's own Oysters and Mussels which are served at
both restaurants.
