THE ORCHIDIANS
RULES

The Association will
be called ‘The Orchidians’.

The object of the
Association is:
To provide a forum
for discussion and support to those in Guernsey diagnosed with prostate
cancer and to those interested in the disease.

Membership shall be
open to all those in Guernsey diagnosed with prostate cancer and those
interested in the disease. Any person wishing to become a member shall
complete an application form for approval by the Committee.
4.
The
management of the Association shall be in the hands of an Executive
Committee consisting of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer
who shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting to hold office for one
year. The Committee shall have the power to co-opt. Three shall constitute a
quorum.
The Chairman of a Meeting
shall have an original vote and a casting vote.
5.
The
funds of The Orchidians, including all subscriptions, donations,
contributions and bequests, shall be paid into an account operated by the
Committee in the name of The Orchidians at such bank as the Committee shall
from time to time decide.
All payments from the account shall be authorised by two members
of
the Committee. The funds belonging to The Orchidians shall be applied only
in furthering the object.
6.
In the event of winding up the Association, residual funds will be
passed to a charity which supports the object of the Association.

The Annual General
Meeting shall be held in March each year, or on such other date not later
than the end of June as the Committee may determine. Eight members shall
form a quorum. The financial year shall end on the 31st December.

An Extraordinary
General Meeting may be called by the Committee at any time and at the
written request to the Secretary of any five members. At least 7 days'
notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting shall be given to all members.
It shall be competent to deal only with the specific business for which it
has been called. Eight members shall form a quorum.
9.
The Annual Subscription shall be determined by the Annual General
Meeting and become payable immediately thereafter or on joining the
Association. The Committee may deem that a member has resigned whose
subscription has not been paid by 31st December.
10.
The Orchidians will operate in Guernsey in accordance with the laws
of Guernsey.
