JUNIOR HANDICAP LEAGUE

Following two practice sessions the junior handicap league is now under way.

PHASE 1 INSTRUCTORS

Following the successful completion of the Phase 1 Instructors course held in Guernsey on the 8 & 9 May, the GTBA now have six qualified phase 1 instructors. They are; Linda Robilliard, Amanda Le Cheminant, Acker Presland, Martin Presland, Jeff Wright and Dave Le Huray. Congratulations to all concerned.

OPEN PAIRS SCRATCH LEAGUE

The Open Pairs Scratch League has now finished. Final results will appear on the league pages shortly. Well done to all the teams who participated and congratulations to the winners and high achievers.

COACHING / TEACHING WEEK : 8 - 12 MAY 00

The GTBA are pleased to announce the visit of Les Grant (Instructor / Tutor) and Ron Deakin (Pro-shop Manager) during the week 8 -12 May.

It is hoped that as well as regular hourly instruction for our members that Les will have sufficient numbers of people interested in taking their Phase 1 teaching certificate thereby helping the GTBA to improve the standard of bowling in Guernsey in the future.

Ron Deakin is currently one of the top left-handed bowlers in Britain and runs the Pro-Shop at AMF Leeds. He will be available for advice on bowling balls and will instruct our staff in the vagaries and skills of ball measuring, cutting and supplies. He will also teach when Les is unavailable due to running the teaching course.
