Welcome to the Guernsey Classic Vehicle Club web site.
A Brief History. The GCVC actually started back in 1983, but folded on or around about 1988.
In late 1994 the current club secretary 'Mike Grantham' placed an ad in the Guernsey Press looking to meet up with classic car enthusiasts after he purchased a 1972 BMW 3ltr Saloon, and found out that Guernsey did not at that time have an active Classic Vehicle club.
The revived club, including some of the original members, first met in September 1994 and has regularly held monthly pub meetings and car runs ever since.
We held our first small show in October 1995 at Sausmarez Manor, and our first large show at Saumarez Park was in held in June 1998, and is now a regular island event, popular with locals and visitors alike.
In 2004 'Sir Stirling Moss OBE' agreed to become our Honorary President and the club is associated to the 'Federation of Historic British Vehicle Clubs'
We currently meet every 1st Wednesday of the month at the 'Ambassador' Hotel in St Martins, partly to discuss and arrange future events, mostly to chat about old cars over a pint.
As a general rule club runs take place on the last Sunday or each month, meeting on the 'Albert Pier' or 'Vazon Bay' car park for 2-2.30pm.
From June-September the club holds regular displays of Vehicles at 'Sausmarez Manor' St Martins from 3-4.30pm.
All local or visiting enthusiasts are welcome to join us at any of our club runs or static events.
