Sabre League – 11th March 2010.

The fifth sabre league saw two new fencers (Rory & John) taking the total competitors to 15 this season thus far. Both scored victories and their indicators have placed then 7 th and 8 th respectively.

The most improved fencer has to be Gemma who scored 3 wins and won pool one on indicators (+10) over myself (+8) and Rory (+7). Paul has gradually improved through out the season and this continued with his sole win over Carol; who fought the best sabre I’ve witnessed from her and although she scored highly in all her fights, including two at swordpoint the victories eluded her.

Pool two saw Wendy suffer at the equal hands of James, John and Andy who with 2 wins apiece were separated by indicators (James +10, John +4 and Andy winning with +12).

Just to remind fencers that the placings are based on the indicator ratios and not the victories at this stage. After the final (sixth) league night I’ll add a weighting for victories and attendance which will reward those who have supported the league and also won some bouts.
