Guernsey Citizens Advice Bureau

What does the Guernsey Citizens Advice Bureau do for people of the Bailiwick?

The Citizens Advice Bureau is available to everyone, regardless of income or status. We deal with about 9,000 enquires annually: the equivalent of one in six of the population each year.

We can help with relationship, employment, housing or consumer problems, or anything else which clients may be concerned about. There is a wealth of information available on local and UK matters.

The Bureau is open for advice each weekday for telephone enquiries and visitors, no appointments are needed.

There is also a debt counselling service available by appointment only.

People may think they will not use their local Citizens Advice Bureau, but this is before they:

lose their job
           separate or divorce
           find themselves in debt
           take responsibility for elderly parents
           buy faulty goods
           have a dispute with tradesmen
           have a dispute with neighbours

Guernsey CAB deals with all these and more in a professional and impartial manner but still needs to extend the service to meet the increasing needs of the Bailiwick community.

The Friends of the Guernsey Citizens Advice Bureau needs the support of local companies and individuals in raising the funds needed to maintain and improve this service.
